We removed the existing newel posts and replaced them with new 120mm chunky newel posts, together with a slightly larger bottom bullnose step. The staircase strings and underside were then re-clad in oak, creating a clean, continuous finish throughout the structure.
To complete the oak staircase renovation, the stairs were French polished in a lighter colour selected by the client. The finished staircase is a striking feature within the property, combining bespoke carpentry, oak detailing and a contemporary finish.
